A night of love, before they sailed, during a blackout in england leaves rick unsure of who his participant was; he wants to find her again, and his candidates include carolyn, chaste nurse, linda, international correspondent, and gina, another nurse. He decides to marry carolyn -- then falls in love with linda -- and carolyn makes way for her. Intermittently there are torpedoings, life aboard ship, heavy action during landings, and rick performing well throughout.
